My Experience
I have worked in Private Client Legal Services for more than 15 years, having started my distance learning law degree whilst working for a British Intelligence organisation. I initially started my LLB (Hons) degree at The University of Nottingham and completed this with The Open University whilst working around my family responsibilities, my working life and my commitment to the various community projects I love to get involved in. It has been an interesting and challenging journey and is testament to my ability to juggle!
A career in probate, trusts and wills followed and became my speciality. Following my role with The British Intelligence, I worked in a busy litigation and personal injury law firm where I developed their wills and probate department. I continued to work as a Private Client Paralegal for another well-established city law firm before deciding to become a director of my own company, working directly with private clients.
I have also continued my studies to include a fuller range of services to provide my clients with all the expert help they need under one roof. I provide a caring, personal service – working from the office or in my clients’ homes, care homes and hospitals.
I understand that wills, powers of attorney and probate can be a scary and often uncomfortable subject, so I work hard to develop a connection with my often-elderly clients to put them at ease and to make the process as seamless as possible in order to gain a better understanding of the effects of dementia and age-related illnesses, I have also worked in the community offering care to the elderly and those with dementia.
Aside from this I have also had the opportunity to work in the Coroner’s Court aiding the Coroner and the members of the jury.
This rewarding work has given me a special insight into the needs of those from all parts of society and has helped me to apply this knowledge to the needs of my clients who come into The Legal Office.
I am proud to be a Principle Fellow of the National Association of Licensed Paralegals and an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives. Aside from English I also speak Hindi, Punjabi, and Urdu – allowing me to provide advice to this community in a language they understand.
I feel privileged to have chosen a profession that combines my love of law with my love of people. I work hard to bring these two together in all aspects of my work, always providing my clients with a caring and compassionate service highlighted by diligence and professionalism. That is the cornerstone of how I approach my work at The Legal Office.
